The First District youth goals are to:

Youth Activities and Materials

The District is interested in encouraging and supporting lodges that provide youth social and cultural experiences. If your lodge is interested in sponsoring a youth group or youth event, please let me know so I can assist.

If your lodge would like to provide activities for small groups of youth at lodge meetings, we can also help.  I can get information for you on a variety of youth activities, including crafts, lessons, and simple activities.

 Youth Opportunities

Camp Norway: Located in Norway, this five-week intensive program is designed to explore the Norwegian language and heritage through a rigorous academic program that is supplemented by field trips and activities designed to immerse participants in Norwegian culture. Skogfjorden: The Norwegian Language Village, located in Bemidji, Minnesota, is one of the many Language Villages sponsored by Concordia College in Moorhead, Minnesota. One, two and four-week programs are offered throughout the summer for youngsters ranging in age from 7 to 18. 2011 information available shortly

Scholarships: There are many scholarships available for youth interested in increasing their knowledge of Nordic languages and heritage. Contact your local lodge and/or the District Youth Director for further information.
